I am sailing...

After the odd Kangaroo-canape-serving shift, I had a trial on a boat! A dream job serving fancy food whilst sailing past the Opera House everyday until I spent most of the time over the cabin toilets trying to keep my cornflakes down...Not a sailors life for me but I have now found an awesome job working in the brand new Hard Rock Cafe on Darling Harbour which I LOVE!

We have been on the Bondi to Coogee Beach walk which was pretty incredible and I had one of those realising-where-I-am-goosebump-moments as we walked along the turquoise coastline. I made the quick transition from tourist to tour guide when my cousin Noel had a fleeting one day visit passing through Sydney - loved seeing a familiar face and stealing tips about his adventures. We're Christmassing it up with local Carol Concerts and fireworks in the city and today bought all our ingredients to bake shortbread on Christmas morning.

After inadvertently winning a jug of beer and offering it to a bunch of Scots in exchange for their knowledge and friendship we came second in a pub quiz! First prize was $100 so I reckon we'll be back if we can find a new regional contingent to assist us.

Life is hard here- The sun is out, I'm forced to try all of my new work menu for free, Christmas parcels are arriving thick and fast from the family, flights are booked to New Zealand and hoovers look like jet packs. Please send sympathy in chocolate form.

A London Tan

I am a Sydneysider resident and employee! I'm waitressing events and have been working at Sydney Olympic Park this weekend for the V8 Supercars Show, which was made even better when I found $50 on the floor!! Now we're earning (yes, I call finding money earning) we're adventuring a lot more with trips to Bondi beach and  walking the Harbour Bridge. Today we visited a Bansky exhibition on Cockatoo Island which was awesome. They had chalks so you can leave your own stamp - my stamp was fish-shaped. It's raining here, and at the moment is forecast to rain on Christmas Day too which royally sucks, not least for my complexion, as Scott The Chef put it, I have 'A London Tan'.
